The National Judicial Council is the highest judicial body in Nigeria. It is responsible for the appointment, promotion, and discipline of judges of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The council is also responsible for the administration of the Nigerian judicial system.
The council was established by the National Judicial Council Act of 1980. The council is headed by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, who is also the Chairman of the council.
The council consists of the following members: the President of the Nigerian Court of Appeal, the Attorney-General of the Federation, the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, and six other members appointed by the President of Nigeria.
The council meets at least once a year to consider the affairs of the Nigerian judiciary.

Applicants must have 0’level certificate with atleast 5 credits which includes English language and Mathematics.
B.Sc. or Masters’ Degree in any related subject earned from a recognized accredited university, or HND in similar courses from any field of study.
